Why Is Coaching Important?
Owning and/or carrying a firearm is a very serious business. Having the skills necessary to employ a handgun safely, effectively and efficiently for defensive purposes, without doing harm to innocent bystanders takes an extremely high level of skill and training. Simply taking a basic pistol course one time, then heading to the range to shoot at static paper targets that don’t fight back a few times a year just won't cut it. The majority of our clients realize this without any need for discussion, and that is precisely why they are here.
How Does This All Work?
Similar to working with a pro on the golf course or tennis court to improve your game, firearms Coaching works quite the same way. Through regularly scheduled one on one or small group training sessions, rapid gains can be made.
Here is how the process typically plays out, using someone who has just become interested in personal protection, but does not yet own a handgun as an example:
The client starts out with our Introduction to Handgun course, trying out a number of different pistols provided by Aim True to see which feels like the best fit for them.
The client may schedule one or two more private training sessions prior to determining exactly which pistol to purchase. Once they have a handgun of their own, it is time to talk accessories:
At the point in which safe gun handling has been properly engrained and basic marksmanship skills have been developed, it is time for the client to move into the fundamentals of defensive pistol training. This is where the Coaching work begins. Routine training dates are scheduled to begin work on the following:
Once the client becomes proficient in the aforementioned areas, they can truly be called a responsibly armed citizen.
Do you imagine performing like this...
but your current training regimen is more like this...
then you'll certainly need one of these.
* Range fees are not included in the hourly rate.
Training is available in three hour time blocks at a rate of:
No additional range fees are assessed.
Note: Your first private outdoor training / coaching session may run longer than three hours for the purposes of establishing a baseline from which future training will be based upon.
Indoor Ranges:
Outdoor Range:
Indoor range training: Tuesdays thru Thursdays
Outdoor range training: Friday thru Monday
Clients schedule coaching sessions based upon their individual needs and goals. Some train with us once a week at the indoor range, then schedule monthly outdoor sessions. Others choose to train every two weeks, and so on.
Coaching is available weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. What matters most is the maintaining of proficiency should the need to defend yourself or loved ones arise.
Coaching can be scheduled with Anna and/or Bryan. Additional instructors will be present for larger groups.
Ever wondered what skills might be required to defend yourself?
It might look something like this...
or possibly like this.
For demonstration purposes, these drills have been presented at slow, steady pace.
Projected & Fixed Scheduling:
Our calendar stays booked up, which often times leads to difficulty in scheduling a one off, or occasional training session. Our Coaching clients receive scheduling priority, allowing them to lock in set training dates and times to suit their ever demanding schedules weeks and even months in advance.
Try Before You Buy:
Are you into your third set of golf clubs and just now figuring out what actually works best for you? Shooting sports and the gear associated with it is no different. If you’d like to avoid investing years of time and treasure into equipment that finds its way into a cardboard box in your garage – we can help. We’ve got 20+ years of equipment on hand for our Coaching clients to try out, including pistols, holsters, magazine carriers, hearing protections, belts, etc.
Outfitting Services:
We pride ourselves in working intimately with our Coaching clients toward creating the perfect match between gear and body. After training together for a few sessions, it’s easy to determine what will and most importantly, what absolutely will not work. We are happy to help create a list, then provide links to where the right equipment can be purchased on the internet. Alternately, we do quite a bit of direct procurement ourselves, then simply invoice cost plus time back to the client. Just like the most beautiful pair of shoes in your closet – if they are uncomfortable - you won’t wear them. Let’s get it right the first time around.
At Home Training Program:
The only way to truly increase your live fire performance on the range is to dry-fire* practice between Coaching sessions at home. All Coaching clients receive our Dry-Fire Training Kit and access to our videos and training guides at no additional charge. Individual dry-fire practice is similar to exercising at home while watching a fitness instructor on TV. Just 15 minutes of practice a few times per week makes a world of difference.
* Dry-fire: practice with and the manipulation of a firearm that is completely empty and clear of live ammunition.
