HR 218 / Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a federal law allowing qualified law enforcement officers (926B) and retired or separated qualified law enforcement officers (926C) to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, or United States Territories, regardless of state or local laws, with certain exceptions.
Retired / separated officers are required to complete an annual firearms proficiency course of fire (shooting test) that meets or exceeds the minimum standards, per Commission Rule §218.9 (c)(1). The Commission Rule §218.9 (c)(1) compliant shooting test, administered by our Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) certified instructors, exceeds the minimum TCOLE standards required for annual certification qualification under LEOSA.
Note 1: This qualification is for (926C) retired / separated officers only.
Note 2: In the event you are waiting on your LEOSA credentials to come in, you can still attend this course.

Prerequisite: Must be a qualified retired law enforcement officer, residing in Texas, entitled to carry a concealed firearm under Title 18 United States Code Section 926C (House Resolution 218 - Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act) - see below.

Firearms Proficiency Course of Fire (shooting test):
Per §218.9 (c)(1), the annual firearms proficiency course of fire for handguns is as follows:
a minimum of 50 rounds, fired at ranges from point-blank to at least 15 yards with at least 20 rounds at or beyond seven yards, including at least one timed reload, with a minimum passing percentage of 70.
As a retired officer, you will be carrying concealed. In order to better conform to a federally recognized concealed carry standard, a slightly modified version of the 2013 FBI Pistol Qualification, whereby the final 25 yard stage has been omitted, will be administered.

Critically Important Note:
This is not a firearms training course. No firearms training of any kind will be provided. Students must be prepared to arrive with the basic skillset required to pass the shooting test, without assistance from others.
Should you feel the need to improve upon your current skill-set prior to attending this course, we offer an optional three hour shooting prep-course in which all requirements of the shooting qualification is covered.

We strongly recommend bringing a modern, high quality, inside the waistband (IWB - worn inside your pants, between your body and the material of your pants) or outside the waistband holster (OWB - worn on the outside of your belt), made of kydex/plastic type material. Leather holsters are acceptable, but kydex is preferred.
