Who We Are
Diamonds & Derringers is an Aim True Group LLC organization that brings ladies together from around the greater Dallas TX area for twice monthly meetings to learn, practice and grow both as a group and individually. D&D creates an opportunity for like minded women to gather in a female friendly environment to discuss issues relating to self sufficiency, safety and security, to learn new skills in the classroom, then transition practice into performance with routine live fire range and practical skills lab training sessions.

Question: What if I am brand new to shooting, am a little uneasy about all of this and do not even own a firearm or any safety equipment yet?
Answer: This group is a perfect fit for you!
We all began this journey at the same level – with little to no experience at all. Many of our Members started off by attending two, three or more training sessions before purchasing their first gun. A firearm is like a new car. It’s a great idea to test drive a number of different makes and models before committing to the final purchase.
Handguns and safety equipment are available for new Members to use free of charge during all D&D training sessions.
INDOOR RANGE TRAINING
On the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6:00 to 8:00 PM we meet at the brand new, state of the art, climate controlled indoor Eagle Gun Range in Farmers Branch TX (just minutes from the Galleria mall).
The amazing team at Eagle affords our ladies group both free handgun rentals and reduced rate $8 range fees.
For more information on Eagle Gun Range, please click here to be redirected to their website.

AIM TRUE GROUP'S PRIVATE TRAINING FACILITY
One weekend a month (either from 9:00 to noon or 1:00 to 4:00 PM, depending on the time of year - see calendar below) we meet at our private outdoor training facility to put it all together. This is where the real world training begins. Drawing from the holster, multiple target engagement work, shooting on the move, working in and around barricades and so much more. We are on 20 acres with a climate controlled classroom, a two story simunition shoot house - and yes, real bathrooms with hot running water!
Members have the option of attending either the Saturday or the Sunday course date, but not both on the same weekend.
In order to provide adequate staffing, Members are required to sign-up in advance of the weekend courses and seasonal special training events. Click on the reservations button below to send us an email.
We are just 45 minutes east of Dallas / 2 miles from Prairieville TX (near Canton / Cedar Creek Lake).
Click here for a map to Prairieville. All members will be sent directions to the property.
*In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be re-scheduled to a later date.
Question: What if I can only make it to the indoor training meetings on Tuesdays (for example), but not the outdoor Saturday meetings? Can I still be a Member?
Answer: Yes, of course!
Members are welcome to attend any of the training dates shown on the calendar throughout the year. Many of our Members live outside of the city and only attend the weekend outdoor range training sessions, and vice versa.
Question: What if I don't have all of this range equipment?
Answer: Not a problem. Just let us know what you need in advance of a meeting and we'll get it all lined up for you. See Frequently Asked Questions below for more information.
Quarterly special training courses such as working from within and around vehicles, operating in low light / no light conditions, AR-15 carbine training, etc. is afforded to all Members at no additional charge. See the annual training schedule below for details.
On the weekend of March 21st and 22nd starting at 1:00 PM, Members are invited to participate in our Force on Force - Darkness training course. Link HERE for details. This is a Members only event. Seats are limited. Advance registration is required.

Unsure of whether D&D would be a great fit for you? We are so confident that you are going to love it (and that we are going to love you!) that we welcome prospective Members to “put their toe in the water” by attending any of our Tuesday indoor or weekend outdoor range training sessions free of charge. Simply send us a message below to reserve seats for you and your friends.
In the event of inclement weather, outdoor training will be re-scheduled to a later date.
Training start times may be adjusted seasonally to accommodate the weather.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We typically send D&D invoices every 90 days via PayPal, which can be paid with a credit or debit card. Alternatively, we have a point of sale device whereby credit or debit cards can be processed in person. Checks and cash are also acceptable.
Q: Are range fees included in my Membership?
A1: The aforementioned indoor range fee on Tuesdays is not included and is paid by Members directly to Eagle.
A2: There are no range fees at the outdoor range.
Q: Do I need to sign-up in advance of each training session?
A1: For Tuesday classes, no.
A2.0: For weekend classes and special events, yes. We need to know how many Members will be in attendance for staffing purposes.
A2.1: Members can sign-up by sending us an email HERE
Q: Is the Saturday and Sunday curriculum the same, including the special events?
A: Yes, it is the same. Members have the option of training on either Saturday or Sunday, but not both days on the same weekend. You are more than welcome to select either Saturday or Sunday from month to month, throughout the year.
Q: Are there any makeup training dates?
A: If a Tuesday class is missed, the classroom portion of the training will be available on the following weekend training date, one hour before the regularly scheduled class time. There are no makeup dates for missed weekend classes or special events. The only option would be to schedule a three hour training course through our Private Training and Coaching program. Any weekend outdoor training that is cancelled due to rain or unforeseen events will be rescheduled to a later date, at no additional cost to Members.
Q: Which handgun do most Members prefer?
A: Buying a handgun is similar to finding the perfect pair of heels. It is difficult to find the perfect balance between form and function. After trying out a multitude of makes, models and calibers, the majority of Members prefer a striker fired (hammerless) semi-automatic pistol (not a revolver), without a thumb or grip safety, in 9mm. The most common makes and models are Glock models 19, 43 and 48 or a Sig Sauer P365.
Q: What about ammunition?
A: Ammo is not included as part of the Membership fee. On Tuesday’s, ammo can be purchased directly from the indoor range. For the weekend courses and special events, Aim True can provide 115 grain 9mm ammunition only (no other calibers) to Members, but it is best to have purchased ammo in advance of the course(s). Recommended ammo retailers: Eagle Gun Range, Super Vel or your local outdoor store such as Academy, Cabela's, etc.
Q: What type of ammunition should I purchase?
A1: The following are NOT ACCEPTABLE, under any conditions: steel core, armor piercing, incendiary or tracer ammunition.
A2: At the indoor range, "target ammunition" rounds such as Full Metal Jacket (FMJ), Total Metal Jacket (TMJ) and Copper Plated (Plated) ammunition are typically the most affordable.
A3: At the outdoor range, it is best not to bring FMJ or Hollow Point (HP) since steel plates are utilized for the targets. You will want to bring Total Metal Jacket (TMJ), Copper Plated (Plated) or Polymer coated ammunition.
Q: What if I don't even know what kind of ammunition to buy for my gun?
A: Easy deal. Just call or email us. We'll figure it out together!
Q: Do I really need a holster?
A: Yes, you really need a holster. When training on the outdoor range, there is not a bench or table in front of you to lay your handgun down on. Initially, the holster can be considered as nothing more than a safe place to put your gun when you are not actively working with it. We are happy to assist you with finding just the right holster to suit your body type and lifestyle. If you are borrowing one of our pistols, we have plenty of holsters for you to try out as well. Just let us know what you need in advance of training day. Note: Holsters are not required for indoor range training.
Q: What eye and ear protection do you recommend?
A1: Eyes: Bolle Silium + in clear and/or tinted lenses
A2: Ears - affordable: Howard Leight or Walkers brand (we offer these as loaners)
A3: Ears - not so affordable: Sordin Supreme Pro-X (Anna wears these)
Q: Should I get my License to Carry (LTC)?
A: Though it is not required to become a Member, the answer is unequivocally, yes. Link to our Constitutional Carry page to find out more.
