This course is designed to benefit those who are brand new to pistol shooting, as well as the seasoned iron sight shooter looking to make the transition over to the red dot sighting system. Training can be conducted from the transition starting position, or from the holster, i.e., the ability to draw from the holster is not mandatory for this course.

Working knowledge of firearms safety and manipulation, including the skills described in our Introduction to Handgun course curriculum. The course is modified as needed around the current skillset of the participant(s), ranging from basic to more advanced applications.

The primary focus of this course is to equip you with the fundamental skill set required to safely carry and employ a handgun for defensive purposes, should the need arise in an everyday carry situation. The perfect course for those choosing to exercise their right to Constitutional Carry, or someone who currently has or is looking to obtain a Texas License to Carry.

This course focuses on the combination of speed and accuracy, seamless firearm manipulations, and use of movement and cover to defend yourself more effectively in a real world, 360 degree environment.

Proficiency with drawing and firing from the holster, as well as all aspects of firearms safety, muzzle awareness and muzzle discipline. The ability to perform the skills described in our DH1 course curriculum, while timed, and under range induced stress

This course is specifically designed for those with a solid basic skillset looking to take their defensive handgun training to the next level. This is NOT a fast paced, run and gun type class, but instead focuses on the fundamentals of safely working in and around a vehicle.
You do not have to be a “gun ninja” to take this course. You simply need to possess safe gun handling skills and have the ability to safely manipulate a firearm while in the presence of others.
Duration: 5 hours (including a quick meal break)
Prerequisite:
Solid foundation relating to firearms safety and manipulation, including the skills described in our Introduction to Handgun course curriculum. A holster is required for the course in order to have a safe place to stow your pistol while it is not in use, but experience drawing from the holster is not required.

Types of Holsters:
We strongly recommend bringing a modern, high quality, inside the waistband (IWB - worn inside your pants, between your body and the material of your pants) or outside the waistband holster (OWB - worn on the outside of your belt), made of kydex/plastic type material. Leather holsters are acceptable, but kydex is preferred.
