DC1 - Defensive Carbine 1

  

Whether you just need brushing up on your skills or have made your first carbine purchase, this is the perfect course to equip you with the primary skills required to safely and effectively employ a carbine in a defensive situation


Duration:

Range Time: 4 hours


Prerequisite

Knowledge of firearms safety, muzzle control and muzzle discipline as well as a working knowledge of the mechanics of a carbine.  No prior experience with a carbine is required


Overview:

  • Setting up the carbine to biomechanically suit the individual shooter
  • Employing a hasty zero
  • Biomechanically efficient body and carbine positioning
  • Speed and administrative reloading
  • Fundamentals of movement with a carbine
  • Clearing of malfunctions

Student Required Gear:

  • Closed toe shoes / long pants with belt loops / hat
  • Sturdy belt
  • Carbine with sling
    • Fitted with iron sights, red dot optic, or both
  • 3 carbine magazines
  • Handgun
  • Holster
  • 3 handgun magazines
  • Handgun magazine carrier
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Water and snacks
  • 150 rounds of ammunition for your carbine
  • No ammunition for your handgun is required. You will be wearing your handgun and magazines, but not employing them during the class

DC2 - Defensive Carbine 2

 

This course focuses on the science of precision shooting, firearm manipulation and body positioning, as well as moving and shooting techniques for the purposes of effectively defending yourself when employing a carbine


Duration:

Range Time: 4 hours


Prerequisite

Proficiency in all aspects of firearms safety, muzzle awareness and muzzle discipline. The ability to perform the skills described in our DC1 course curriculum, while timed, and under range induced stress 


Overview:

  • Trigger finger placement, control and timing
  • Firing from concealment and cover
  • Firing from positions
  • Transitions from carbine to handgun
  • Manipulating and running the gun on the move
  • Multiple target engagement scenarios

Student Required Gear:

  • Closed toe shoes / long pants with belt loops / hat

  • Carbine with sling
    • Fitted with iron sights, red dot optic, or both
  • 3 carbine magazines

Precision Rifle Carbine Firearm Handgun Gun Pistol Instruction Training Dallas Texas

PCL - Precision Carbine Lab

This course focuses on the fundamentals and science behind preparing the shooter to send rounds down range with precision, at distance, using a non-magnified red dot optic for the purposes of effectively defending yourself when employing a carbine in longer range scenarios 


Duration:

Range Time: 4 hours 


Prerequisite

Knowledge of firearms safety, muzzle control and muzzle discipline, as well as a working knowledge of the mechanics of a carbine.  No prior experience with a carbine is required


Overview:

  • Meticulous building of the prone position
  • Establishing a multi-range zero
  • Understanding of ballistics and hold-overs for the 5.56 cartridge at distances up to 500 yards
  • Firing from positions
  • Natural point of aim development
  • Biomechanically efficient position shooting

Student Required Gear:

  • Closed toe shoes / long pants with belt loops / hat
  • Long sleeved shirt or jacket to pad elbows
  • Sturdy belt
  • Carbine with sling
    • Fitted with red dot optic
      • No magnification required
  • 3 carbine magazines
  • Shooting mat, if desired (not required)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Water and snacks
  • 150 rounds of ammunition for your carbine
  • A handgun is not required for this course
